About Sarah (she/her/hers)
Hi there! I'm Sarah Woodruff, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) at WHC. My approach in therapy is to foster and grow a strong therapeutic connection with my clients, addressing your desired goals and guiding you towards them. I will accompany you on your healing journey. I recognize the uniqueness of each person's path. My objective is to meet you where you are on that path, and walk alongside you during that journey.
During sessions I offer unconditional positive regard, creating a safe space for you to speak as radically and freely as you wish. My goal is to gently assist you in identifying the changes you would like to see in your life and provide practical and evidence based skills to get you there. I also understand that and emphasize the importance of just being and sharing our story with another individual and the therapeutic value that exists there.
I have had the privilege of walking alongside a diverse range of individuals including children, women, young adults, and adults. With a focus on the impact of childhood trauma and Complex-PTSD symptoms that may be causing a disruption in your life. My therapeutic approach emphasizes the integration of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the human experience. I believe in addressing the entire person rather than just isolated issues. Guided by the principle that "the body achieves what the mind believes," I work to enhance your existing strengths and introduce new coping skills, supporting your journey toward becoming the best version of yourself. I pull from CBT, DBT, and strength based approaches with an integration of art therapy interventions.
For my own self care I like to spend time on the beach with family and friends, bake sweet treats, read, and binge watch a good show.
