About Bethanie (she/her/hers)
Hi, I'm Bethanie, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) at WHC. I work with adults of all ages who are navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, and major life changes. I believe that healing starts with a strong, trusting relationship, and I'm passionate about creating a safe space where you feel truly heard, understood, and supported.Â
I come from a person-centered approach, meaning I see you as the expert of your own life. I believe therapy works best when it's a collaborative journey built around your unique strengths, needs, and goals. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to be yourself, explore your experiences, and move toward growth at your own pace. Along with this foundation, I also draw from psychodynamic therapy to help explore how past experiences may shape current patterns, and I enjoy incorporating parts work to help clients connect with and understand different aspects of themselves with more compassion. I work to support clients in finding greater balance, healing, and empowerment in their lives.
Outside of work, I take care of myself by spending time with my dog, Oliver, spending time with my loved ones, practicing mindfulness, and winding down with a good movie, show, or podcast - especially if it's a psychological thriller, crime documentary, or anything a little creepy and crimey. I believe small, meaningful moments of self-care can make a big difference, and I enjoy helping clients discover what that looks like for them.Â
