About Katie (she/her/hers)
Hi! My name is Kathryn, but most people call me Katie. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) here at Wholehearted.
I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families as they navigate life's challenges and transitions. I have a special interest in working with parents of children with disabilities, helping families manage the emotional, relational, and practical demands that can accompany caregiving, advocacy, and complex support systems.
I also work with individuals navigating birth trauma, body image concerns, generational trauma, grief, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am committed to creating an affirming, inclusive environment where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change.
My approach to counseling is holistic, humanistic, and trauma-informed. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic modality, I tailor treatment to each client's unique strengths, goals, and needs by drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as Solution Focused, CBT and Socratic questioning. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to meet clients where they are, moving at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive of their growth.
For my own self-care, I enjoy taking photos, binge watching a good show, playing a cozy video game or sitting on the beach with family and friends.Â
