About Meg (she/her/hers)

Hi! My name is Meg, a dedicated and versatile Licensed Clinical Social Worker with six years of experience in the mental health field, specializing in substance-abuse treatment for the past three years. I typically work with adults, ages 16+! I have had the privilege of working with individuals struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, Bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, family & relationship issues, ADHD, and various emotional struggles. Driven by a profound passion for helping individuals, I am committed to empowering clients to live their most authentic lives. With a focus on the present moment and the philosophy of "Be Here Now," I foster a supportive and mindful environment where clients can explore their true selves while navigating their unique journeys to recovery and personal growth. Personally, I find the most rewarding and satisfying benefits as a therapist is the connection and collaboration formed between myself and my clients.

I believe in the  transformative power of authenticity and presence, and work collaboratively with clients to develop practical strategies for overcoming challenges, enhancing well-being, achieving lasting positive change, and cultivating meaningful relationships. My varied approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and evidence-based practices. Several of the approaches I utilize often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care. Additionally, I believe it is essential to focus on reframing negative thoughts and gently challenging my clients to see situations from new perspectives while occasionally using humor as a buffer!

Over the past year, I have expanded my clinical work to include couples counseling, integrating insights from family systems theory and relational dynamics. Drawing from the research and approaches of The Gottman Institute as well as the perspectives of Esther Perel, I have developed a deeper understanding of the patterns and dynamics that shape couples’ relationships. This has allowed me to support partners in strengthening communication, fostering connection, and navigating challenges with greater empathy and clarity.

Away from work, I enjoy spending time at the beach, where I find peace and inspiration. I also love being with my friends and family, cherishing the moment and relishing the joy they bring into my life.
