About Danielle (she/her/hers)
Hi there! I’m Danielle and I’m a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) here at WHC. My approach to therapy includes developing the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship to address your desired goals. We all come from different walks of life, and I am passionate about providing a safe and compassionate space to embark on your own healing process.
During sessions I provide unconditional positive regard while holding space for your challenges and concerns. My hope is to gently guide you in identifying the changes you would like to see in your behavior, internal dialogue, and your life as a whole. I find it helpful to identify the barriers you may be facing on the path to reaching those goals, whether they be internal or external. I also understand that sometimes, we just need someone who will listen to our story. Together, we can create a plan to make small changes for monumental growth.
I often utilize techniques rooted in DBT and REBT to understand current negative beliefs, and explore how the past may be affecting the present, and hopes for the future. I am passionate about providing non-judgemental, compassionate, and trauma-informed care. In addition, I have completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Health at Every Size (HAES), as well as Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR).
For self-care, I am open about engaging in my own personal therapy, and also enjoy spending time with friends, watching scary movies, or trying out a new recipe.
