About the Group
Humans are social creatures and need connection, yet interpersonal relationships are one of the most common sources of distress that lead people to enter therapy. While reading the book, "Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How it Can Help You Find - and Keep - Love," we will explore the concept of attachment and the impact of attachment trauma on current relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners.
Program Objectives
- Define "attachment" and explore the relationship between attachment and dependence.
- Identify and learn about your attachment style.
- Explore interpersonal dynamics within romantic relationships, friendships, and with family-of-origin, that have an impact on your attachment style.
- Develop strategies to manage activation of attachment system (i.e., grounding & mindfulness, etc.)
