About Julia (she/her/hers)

Hey! I am Julia Cunningham, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). I am passionate about assisting people to develop a positive relationship with their bodies and cultivate a strong sense of self-worth. I also specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I want to help you navigate these challenges and support your journey to healing and personal growth. I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups including teens as young as 14, young adults, and older adults. I understand the unique impact that body image concerns, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues can have on one's overall well-being.

My therapeutic approach involves empathy, compassion, mindfulness, and collaboration. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can openly express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we will explore the underlying factors contributing to these challenges and develop effective coping strategies. I draw upon evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to address body image concerns, enhance self-esteem, manage anxiety and depression symptoms, and improve relationship dynamics. I believe in tailoring the treatment to each client's unique needs and goals.

I understand that body image issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties can be interconnected, and I take a holistic approach to therapy. By addressing these concerns together, we can work towards fostering a positive self-image, reducing anxiety and depression symptoms, and improving relationships with ourselves and others.
