About Courtney (she/her/hers)
Hello! My name is Courtney, and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) at WHC. My role as an LAC is to help those on the journey of life. Our life is a product of our experiences, which becomes our individual life story. When we are given the mental tools to meet our needs, we are then given the tools to tell our own stories. We can't always change what happens to us, but we can change how it impacts us and plays out in our life. Within each of us is a hidden potential, a wellspring of untapped natural resources we can use to heal our psychological wounds and help us better navigate challenges we face in our lives.
My experience includes working with children, teens and young adults who are going through grief, navigating anxiety, coping with stress, building up self-compassion and self-esteem. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, and it involves meeting you where you are in the moment and helping you to develop skills and tools to navigate life. This approach involves grounding techniques, mindfulness, compassion, and empathy. Learning how to manage your life doesn’t mean going it alone. We all need all the help we can get as humans in an ever-evolving, hugely complex world. It would be an honor to be able to help support you on your healing journey. Together we can learn tools to get through the day, the week, the month, and the rest of your life!
My own self-care includes yoga, meditation & breathwork, spending time with family & friends, being outside, painting, & soaking up the sunshine on the beach.
Self-Compassion is the outer most powerful form of love because it sets the foundation for which every other aspect of your life is built upon. How you treat yourself with love and respect is a direct reflection of how others will treat you in life. We deserve to experience all of the good thing's life has to offer. When you water yourself and balance yourself daily you will begin to watch your life flourish. You will learn how to plant the seed and watch all aspects of your life grow.
We all are gifts to the world and have special gifts to be seen and shared. My goal is to help you get in touch with these gifts and to find your true purpose and self through creative expression.
